I adhere to the rules drawn up by my professional association
Acupuncture is safe, because as an acupuncturist I adhere to the rules drawn up by my professional association. The use of sterile needles, for example, goes without saying, but in the age of contagious viruses, extensive hygiene measures are even more important than they already were. That is why I describe here in detail how I work safely and responsibly, following the protocol drawn up and approved by the Dutch Association for Acupuncture. And also what you can do to ensure safety for each other.
What can you do before you leave home and upon arrival?
Download the infographic, which briefly explains what you can do before you leave for my practice.
- Stay at home if you have a cold, fever or other COVID-19-like symptoms. Below I will discuss this in more detail. When in doubt, please contact me.
- Preferably come to my practice alone.
- Leave watches, rings and other jewelry at home.
- Go to the toilet at home. In the event that a visit to the toilet is necessary: the toilets in the Vita_Liek are still in use and are cleaned regularly, but please strictly follow the hygiene regulations.
- Wash your hands off before leaving. Wash your hands again upon entering the practice.
- Arrive at the agreed time, neither too early nor too late.
- Please bring your own two large bath towels.
- I don't serve water, bring your own bottle of water if you wish.
What measures have been taken in practice?
I always treat you safely and responsibly. Because of COVID-19, I take the following extra measures:
- I will not treat if I myself or my family members have health problems that could indicate COVID-19.
- I keep at least 1.5 m distance between you and me. If you and I are within 5 feet of each other, we both wear mouth caps. That is during the treatment, which usually takes no more than 10 minutes. If we are outside 1.5 m from each other, a mouth mask is not required. Please always indicate what you like, then I will adapt if this falls within the rules.
- I always air the space between clients and clean the surfaces that may have been touched.
- I wash and disinfect my hands before and after a treatment and continue to adhere to all measures prescribed by the RIVM.
When not to treat?
To protect the health of you, other clients and myself, I do not treat if I, my family members or my client have health complaints that could indicate COVID-19. Ask yourself the following questions, which I will also ask before a consultation:
- Do you have one or more of the following (also mild!) Symptoms: nasal cold or cough or shortness of breath or fever (from 38 ° C)?
- Have you had complaints (COVID-19 symptoms) in the past 24 hours?
- Do you have roommates / family members with fever and / or shortness of breath?
- Have you or a housemate / family member been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
